Location: Kogi, Nigeria

Position Overview

The Glazing Shift In Charge will oversee the glazing operations during their assigned shift, ensuring the efficient and high-quality application of glazes on ceramic products.
This role involves managing the glazing team, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherence to
safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in ceramic glazing processes and strong leadership skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

Shift Management:
• Supervise and manage the glazing operations during the assigned shift.
• Ensure production targets and quality standards are met consistently.
• Coordinate with other shift supervisors to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of
operations.
• Monitor and adjust production schedules as needed to meet deadlines and customer demands.
Glazing Operations:
• Oversee the preparation and application of glazes to ceramic products.
• Ensure the correct mix and consistency of glazes according to specifications.
• Monitor the glazing process to ensure uniformity and adherence to quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to glazing applications and equipment.
Team Leadership:
• Lead, train, and supervise the glazing team, providing guidance and support.
• Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity and quality.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and feedback.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Quality Control:
• Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure high standards are maintained.
• Inspect finished products for defects and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of production data and quality control results.

• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to continuously improve processes and products.
Equipment Maintenance:
• Ensure all glazing equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
• Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements as necessary.
Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions for the team.
• Report and address any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in ceramic glazing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of ceramic glazing techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Salary Range: ₦3m- ₦5m per annum
