Role: Project Engineer
Reporting to: General Manager, Operations

OPSL Capital Ventures Limited (OPSL) is one of Nigeria’s leading HR Consulting and Venture Capital firms located in Lagos, Nigeria. We provide HR Consultation services, recruitment, payroll administration, procurement management, and capital investment services to organizations across various industries.

We are currently recruiting a Project Engineer – Sales, on behalf of our client in the Oil and Gas/ Power sector.

 

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Engineer – Sales, will be responsible for coordinating and managing the entire process of selling a project or a
set of projects. He/ she will work closely with the clients, conducting on-site assessments and sales presentations to gain new
business and manage existing business.

 

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- PROJECT ENGINEER

  • Preparing and developing technical proposals/presentations to explain the company’s products and/or services to
    clients.
  • Build rapport with existing client base to facilitate new project opportunities.
  • Recording and comparing bids from multiple vendors and subcontractors.
  • Provide scope, budgets, and estimates for projects.
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractors for timely delivery of scope items.
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission of proposals and bids to meet client specifications and deadlines.
  • Collaborate with various departments (operations, projects, finance, etc) to gather technical and operational
    information essential for bid and proposal development.
  • Coordinate the preparation, compilation, and submission of pre-qualifications, ITT, RFQ through the NipeX portal,
    commercial bid, and formal tender submissions from receipt of requests from clients and review clarifications, to
    award and hand over to the execution teams.
  • Track and report on the status of bids and proposals, providing regular updates to management.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and communicating these issues as well as possible solutions to management.
  • Visiting job sites and completing performance reviews for contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Contributing to developing marketing plans and strategies for effective sales.
  • Establish industry contacts that lead to sales.
  • Act to close deals and finalize contracts.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS- PROJECT ENGINEER

  • Experience in Sales & Marketing functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Sales & Marketing with a track record of achieving targets.
  • To be knowledgeable in the range of services and how to meet client/market needs in the Oil and Gas and Power construction industries.
  • A very good understanding of the market about competitors’ products, pricing, sources, uses, and market trends.
  • Ability to efficiently use basic computer applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to process data and generate reports.
  • Willingness/ability to travel on short notice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident and articulate, with a strong drive for results.
  • Ability to network and build relationships.
  • Good attention to detail and record keeping.
