About Lagos Food Bank
Lagos Food Bank is a non-profit, nutrition-focused initiative committed to fighting hunger, reducing food waste and solving the problem of malnutrition through targeted programs that seek to improve the nutrition/food intake of pregnant women and their infants who are not able to get the required nutrient during pregnancy and breastfeeding of their babies.
Our primary goal at LFBI is to reach out to:
- Children from ages 0-16
- Pregnant women and lactating mothers
- Patients with diet-related diseases
- Seniors from ages 50 years and above
- Destitute
- Extremely indigent families
Responsibilities
- Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties
- Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources Department
- Coordinate, Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc)
- Coordinate all HR projects (meetings, training, team bonding, surveys etc)
- Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc)
- Develops implements and improves the human resource strategy, and ensures it is aligned with overall goals of the Food Bank.
- Design, implement and constantly update a comprehensive employee hand book, HR policies and procedures in line with international best practice and food bank standard
- Advises managers about Human Resources legislation, issues, policies and procedures
- Assists managers to understand and implement policies and procedures and respond effectively to resolve employee concerns
- Support the recruitment and selection process (developing job description, preparing and posting job ads, reviewing resumes, interviewing and selecting candidates)
- Assists managers with providing orientation for new employees, including coordinating the necessary arrangements (technology etc.)
- Assists managers with managing the probationary period and also providing timely feedbacks.
- Support with administration relating to Learning & Development activities
- Manage a filing system and updates of HR information, including sensitive and confidential information both hard and soft copies.
- Consistently support in overall office administration; including contracting, staff orientation, benefit reviews, appraisals, reward and Learning
And development for staff. - Coordinate the timing and process for the performance review process.
- Act as resource to managers on performance management including the development of departmental/Unit goals and performance measures
- Provides advice and recommendations on employee coaching and disciplinary actions
- Develops and delivers training to keep employees highly motivated and informed
- Evaluates the market to ensure that compensation plans are competitive
- Manages, sick leave and all other leaves in the Organization.
SKILLS
- Degree in Human Resources or any management related field
- Proven experience as an HR Assistant, or relevant Human Resources/Administrative position
- Great Microsoft office skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
