1. Trade Marketing Representative

Location: Flexible Location
Employment Type: Full Time

Role Positioning & Objectives

What You Will Be Accountable For

  • Own performance across your territory and maintain strong retailer relationships.
  • Plan visits, go to retailers, build strong business relationships, answer their questions, issues and concerns, and monitor contract
  • compliance.
  • Implement cycle and regional/district activities to achieve national, regional, and area-level objectives.
  • Meet market demand for our products by maintaining inventory levels and hitting brand distribution targets.
  • Work on special projects with a team of trade marketing account representatives.

Essential Experience, Skill, AND Knowledge

  • You’ll be a graduate or equivalent in Marketing / Business, or a related field, with excellent sales, marketing and negotiation skills.
  • You also have a valid driver’s license.
  • With the drive to work independently and focus on results, you’ll be a strategic thinker with strong business acumen.
  • Most of all, you’ll be a proven leader with the ability to create close working relationships with a wide variety of trade partners.

Desirable Requirements:

  • You’ll be traveling extensively across your territory to meet a wide variety of trade partners, so you’ll need to be prepared to spend a lot of time on the road.

 

2. Merchandiser

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Positioning and Objectives

  • You will be a member of the Trade Marketing & Distribution department, which is responsible for the implementation of the route to market strategy.
  • This includes ensuring product availability, visibility, volume, margin, quality, and retail pricing are properly implemented and monitored.
  • The job is also about identification of new opportunities and the initiation, development, and deployment of trade programmes.

What You Will Be Accountable For
Your day-to-day activity is to:

  • Ensure the effective and efficient execution of marketing activities in the defined territory and extended coverage area
  • Serve as part of a ‘Tactical Response Team’, positioned to address situations arising within the market, as well as business needs. In this
  • regard, direction to be provided by Area Manager, TMDM or Regional Manager
  • Execute basic TM&D activities in the outlets located within the territory in order to meet company objectives as described in the cycle plan (visibility, availability, freshness, consumer contacting etc)
  • Achieve volume and distribution targets through direct selling (Top-up stock), management of the rural wholesale customer and monitoring of van sales.
  • Improve the company’s corporate image by operating at the highest business ethics, environmental, health and safety standards using the IMP as a guide.

Your People Responsibility will be:

  • Supporting Rural wholesale business expansion by providing Trade marketing support for the DSS rep attached.
  • Engaging local government officials, transport/ traffic agencies and other stakeholders to avoid disruption of BAT operations in the
  • defined rural territory.
  • Supporting Van Reps to achieve high performance by developing new routes and giving TM&D support to existing outlets.

 

3. Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Operations Manager

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Positioning and Objectives

  • The main purpose of the role is to develop, implement and maintain an integrated management system that ensures best practice performance in environment, health and safety management within BAT Nigeria establishments and in West & Central Africa Area End markets (WCA) in line with legal and corporate requirements.

Responsibilities

  • To champion EHS activities and standards, and to support the business in achieving high safety standards
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant Environmental Health and Safety Legislation across the Factory
  • Ensure that the leadership teams and line managers within BAT Nigeria Factory understand their EHS responsibilities and performance of their respective jurisdiction
  • Ensure that appropriate training materials are available for all employees, contractors and visitors to have a complete understanding of the procedures they must follow to safeguard the EH&S of employees, contractors and visitors during their working activities and presence on company premises
  • Develop and manage EHS budget and analyse deviations to ensure expenditure is in line with the business plan
  • Carry out organizational reviews and workplace inspections/periodic internal self-assessment, including monthly and quarterly submission of EHS reports for the Area to the Global BAT EHS reporting tools
  • As a member of the Operations Leadership Team, contribute to the overall direction of the Company i.e. playing full part in the development of local strategy & direction setting and communicating that direction clearly
  • Give direction and advice to the Leadership team and the respective end market line managers with regards to EHS implementation and plans
  • Regular meetings with different departments to discuss results and improvements in ways of working.
  • Participate in coordinating firefighting and first aid team in the event of an emergency
  • Participate in coordinating the various statutory/corporate medical check-ups for staff and contractors onsite.
  • Participate in preparation of risk assessments for the various sections within the area.
  • To ensure compliance to BAT Guidelines as well as conformance with local legislation regarding buildings and fire safety – for the factory site, as well as the department
  • Ensuring 0% accidents across the area, meeting environmental KPI such as water and electricity usage, recycling and carbon emissions from the production

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in an EHS-related area
  • EHS certification: NEBOSH – added advantage
  • Core understanding of EHS with at least 8-10 years of experience, preferably in an international/ FMCG environment or Oil& Gas industry
  • Sound communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong leadership skills for managing a large area
  • French knowledge and SAP knowledge would represent and added advantage
