Job Summary:
As a Sales Manager, you will be primarily responsible for coordinating sales efforts and product distribution to drive revenue growth and establish strong relationships with customers. This role requires a proactive and results-oriented approach to achieve sales targets.
Key Responsibility/Technical Experience Of a Sales Manager
Key Responsibilities of a Sales Manager:
- Present, promote, and sell products and services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
- Grow revenue and distribution within the allocated territory and achieve the agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes.
- Prospect and generate leads to build a robust sales pipeline.
- Create new distributor accounts, and constantly grow and maintain business relationships.
- Monitor sales data and keep up to date with current market trends and customer needs, which include customer queries and complaints.
- Draw up strategies to ensure you sell out the stock turn it around and maintain aged stock at 25% of total inventory.
- Raise customer retention by following through on customer requests.
- Respond to sales orders and inquiries speedily and professionally.
- Be aware of all competitive activities within the territory.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective sales strategies.
- Monitor customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts.
- Verify the delivery schedule to meet the customer’s deadline.
- Negotiate and close sales deals, achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Follow up with debt recovery and trade receivables.
- Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts and reports.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions.
- Responsible for coordinating with suppliers to pick up products at the warehouse.
- Responsible for the distribution of products from the warehouse to the customer.
- Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
- Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team
- Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sales or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably in a B2B environment.
- Familiarity with sales techniques and strategies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic sales environment.
- Experience in a food business or FMCG environment will be an added advantage.
