Job Description
Position Name: Technical Sales Associates – Big Load Appliances
Division / Function: D2R Business
Location of the Job: Lafia, Nigeria
Reports to: Head, D2R Business
Role Summary
Husk is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Technical Sales Associate to join the growing team in Nigeria. The individual will be responsible for promoting and selling our range of big Load appliances (i.e. grinding & welding machines, Freezers etc.) to potential clients. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, sales acumen, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with customers, understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions. You need to be a team player and have a problem-solving attitude.
The individual should also be passionate about contributing to solving one of Nigeria’s most critical challenges – the energy access deficit.
Key Responsibilities
General
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets for Appliances.
- Identify and prospect potential customers within the designated territory or market segment.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new clients through regular communication and visits.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features, benefits, and capabilities of our machines.
- Collaborate with the technical support team to address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide technical assistance as needed.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Prepare and submit accurate sales forecasts, reports, and other documentation as required by management.
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote our products and expand the company’s presence in the market.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, campaigns, and initiatives to support sales efforts.
- Continuously strive to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques, and professional skills through training and self-development activities.
Salary:
NGN 200,000 to 250,000
Qualifications
Required Skills & Attributes
- Minimum of a Diploma in Engineering, business administration, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years experience in technical sales, preferably within the industrial machinery or manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of grinding and welding processes, equipment, and applications.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Exceptional negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned territory. - Experience in a similar role is an advantage.
- Business-level fluency in major Nigerian languages, a plus.
Location and Travel
- This role is based in Lafia, Nasarawa, Nigeria
- Will be required to work from rural areas and plant sites.
