Job Description
- We are a staffing agency based in Lagos and are currently hiring for some writer/editor positions for a career advising platform owned by our client.
- The ideal candidate would have a demonstrated ability to conduct research and experience of creating engaging content for diverse audiences. We will give more weight to work sames e.g. links to work published online.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, engaging, and informative content across various topic areas in a concise and easy to read format.
- Conduct thorough research on a variety of topics, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
- Collaborate with internal teams to understand content needs and target audiences.
- Optimize content for search engines and user experience, adhering to brand guidelines and style standards.
- Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency, and grammatical accuracy.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in content creation.
Requirements
Required skills:
- Exceptional Writing & Editing: Proven ability to craft engaging, clear, and concise content tailored to diverse audiences, with meticulous attention to detail and grammar.
- Research Expertise: Strong research skills to gather and synthesize information from various sources, ensuring accuracy and credibility in all content.
- Content Strategy & Adaptability: Ability to contribute to content planning, understand audience needs, and adapt writing style and tone to different audiences.
- Industry Background: Experience in research, career advising, education, consulting, or journalism, providing a strong foundation for creating authoritative content.
- SEO Fundamentals: Basic understanding of SEO principles and the ability to incorporate keywords naturally for improved content visibility.
- Time Management: Efficient in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines without compromising quality.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Nice-to-have skills:
- Experience with online content creation (blogs, websites, social media).
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
- Collaborative writing experience and a portfolio (a list of links to published articles) showcasing writing versatility.
- Knowledge of content optimization techniques and digital marketing principles.
- Familiarity with graphic design or multimedia content creation.
