Description of Quantity Surveyor
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building features for managing costs, ensuring efficiency, and optimizing value for our client’s construction projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be the go-to subject matter expert on these subjects:
• Cost Estimation: Cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
• Budget Management: Management of project budgets, monitoring expenditures and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
• Tendering Process: Tendering processes, evaluating bids and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Risk Analysis: Identifying potential risks and uncertainties related to project costs.
• Quantity Takeoff: Measuring and quantifying materials required for projects through detailed quantity takeoffs.
• Variation Orders: Evaluating and processing variation orders, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of changes in project scope.
• Value Engineering: Exploring cost-effective alternatives and value engineering opportunities.
• Progress Reporting: Preparing regular reports on project financials, highlighting variances and providing insights into cost performance.
- Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and contractual obligations.
As a Quantity Surveyor, your role will involve collaborating with product managers, engineers, and various stakeholders to ensure that our features are developed based on the latest advancements in quantity surveying knowledge.
Requirements of Quantity Surveyor
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
- Proficient in cost estimation software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
