About this Role:

As a Publicist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the company’s public image and brand. You will work closely with the Executive Assistant and Branding Team to develop and execute strategic communication plans aimed at increasing the company’s visibility and influence across various platforms. Your creative storytelling skills and media relations expertise will be essential in managing company news, brand campaigns, and other opportunities to amplify the company’s voice and message. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of strategic processes to ensure the long-term success of the company’s brand-building efforts.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Media Relations:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and influencers to secure media coverage for the company.
  • Coordinate interviews, press conferences, and other media opportunities for the company.
  • Monitor media coverage and track relevant industry trends to identify opportunities for proactive media outreach.

Content Creation:

  • Collaborate with the Branding Team to develop engaging content for the company’s social media channels, website, and other digital platforms.
  • Write press releases, blog posts, and other written materials to communicate key messages and announcements.
  • Assist in the creation of multimedia content, including videos, infographics, and podcasts, to engage audiences and convey the company’s expertise and personality.

Event Management:

  • Identify and secure speaking engagements, panel opportunities, and conference appearances for the company.
  • Coordinate logistics for speaking engagements, including travel arrangements, event registration, and presentation materials.
  • Work with event organizers to ensure the company’s participation is well-promoted and executed smoothly.

Crisis Communication:

  • Develop crisis communication plans and protocols to effectively manage potential reputational risks.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the company in times of crisis, providing timely and accurate information to the media and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor social media channels and online forums for potential reputation issues, and take proactive measures to address them.

Strategic Processes:

  • Contribute to the development of strategic communication plans and brand-building initiatives.
  • Analyze data and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of publicity efforts and make recommendations for optimization.

Success Measures:

  • Increased visibility and positive media coverage for the company.
  • Successful execution of speaking engagements, media appearances, and other public engagements.
  • Engaging content creation and high levels of audience engagement on digital platforms.
  • Effective management of crisis communication situations with minimal impact on the company’s reputation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of securing media coverage and managing successful publicity campaigns.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with experience creating a variety of written and multimedia content.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.
  • Experience in crisis communication and reputation management is a plus.
