Job Description

Responsibilities
Generic Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence with PIHC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Implement delegated program responsibilities according to plan of action
- Ensure adherence of project implementation to Project Document
- Ensure Smooth day to day running of the department
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the Program function
Specific Responsibilities:
- High level representation of PiHC interests in external meetings and planning efforts nationally.
- Manages the PiHC program team and PiHC operations and provides strategic oversight of operations and performance management.
- Develop and supervise detailed program plans and schedules leveraging on technology to improve outcome in SRH, HIV, TB as well as HRH.
- Ensure program objectives are met within the specified timeframe and budget.
- Monitor and adjust project plans as necessary to meet changing needs and requirements.
- Oversee programmatic and financial reporting, and identify and address potential issues proactively, taking corrective actions when needed.
- Develop a comprehensive implementation strategy tailored to Nigeria’s context.
- Design, implement, and monitor training and mentoring programs for PiHC Program staff.
- Monitor and manage project spending according to the approved budgets.
- Ensure financial compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
- Prepare and present financial reports as required.
- Ensure availability of up-to-date needs assessment (preferably multi-sectoral) to inform programme design and advocacy efforts.
- Ensure all relevant stakeholders are included in the planning and implementation of projects as appropriate.
- Consolidation, review, and sign-off of concept notes and proposals input submitted to the country office team.
- Overall responsibility for effective and efficient management of programming Nigeria consistent with the project management cycle (including reporting to the desired quality and standard)
- Responsible for the programme budget oversight for all projects/portfolio implemented in the Country and ensure appropriate burn-rates are maintained and solutions to over/under expenditure are applied.
- Responsible for providing implementation support and guidance to Team members.
- Coordinate and oversee donor visits within the Country in coordination with the Team Members
Your Profile (Eligibility Requirement)
- A Medical Doctor is of great Advantage
- Minimum of M.Sc. or its recognized equivalent
- Minimum of Seven (7) years of work experience
- Candidates must be a Computer literate
- Possess a Positive attitude (demonstrate integrity, confidentiality, approachability and diplomacy).
- Ability to withstand work-related pressure, accurately follow instructions
- Ability to express oneself through good communication skills: verbal and written.
- Fluency in English Language is a must.
Functional/Technical:
- Experience managing public health programs in resource limited settings.
- Experience managing SRH, Malaria and TB programs.
- At least 5 years experience working with an INGO.
- Experience working with young people and adolescents providing prevention serviced with referral options.
