Spacefinish Africa is recruiting for the following positions :

  1. Associate Designer
  2. Lead Architect
  3. Project Architect
  4. Project Manager

1. Associate Designers;

• Collaborate with the Lead designers to develop and present design concepts, furniture plans, and layouts

• Create detailed design drawings, specifications, and schedules Research and source materials, furniture, and accessories

• Assist with client presentations and meetings

• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality of work

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and technology to ensure design solutions are innovative and effective

• Assist with project management tasks such as budget tracking, scheduling, and coordination with contractors and vendors

• Provide administrative support to the design team as needed

Skill set required;

• Proficient use of Sketchup for 3D conceptual 3D Modelling and material application

• Use of Autodesk Revit in developing detailed interior construction drawings package.

• Use of Vray or Enscape to develop interior renderings is an added advantage Comprehensive Use of

• G-suite for optimum collaboration

Educational Requirement;

• A Masters and Bachelors degree in Architecture is required.

Work Experience

• Between 1-4 years of experience

2. Lead Architect

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Design: Lead the design process from conceptualization to detailed execution, ensuring adherence to project requirements, codes, and standards.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including establishing project timelines, allocating resources, and monitoring progress to ensure timely delivery within budgetary constraints.
  • Team Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior architects and designers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
  • Client Interaction: Collaborate with the PMs on client communication, addressing their concerns, presenting design proposals, and incorporating feedback to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in architectural design, incorporating innovative solutions into project designs.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of architectural plans, specifications, and construction documents to ensure accuracy, compliance, and quality.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as engineers, contractors, and consultants to integrate architectural designs seamlessly with other project components.
  • Construction: Experience working with grade A contractors on complex construction projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements throughout the design and construction phases.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges early in the project lifecycle, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and cost overruns.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement, contributing to the refinement of architectural processes and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • Professional licensure as an architect (ARCON certification) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design and project management, with a focus on commercial/residential/industrial projects, with a minimum project value at N750million.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard architectural software such as Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively.

3. Project Architect

The Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of buildings and other structures, working closely with clients and project teams to ensure successful project completion. He/she will have a strong portfolio of completed projects, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating innovative and sustainable designs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and design objectives
  • Develop and present design concepts, plans, and models that meet project requirements and are innovative and sustainable
  • Create detailed design drawings, specifications, and schedules
  • Oversee construction and building process to ensure designs are implemented correctly
  • Work with project teams including engineers and contractors to ensure designs meet building codes, regulations, and safety standards
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress and quality of work
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior architects and interns
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and technology to ensure design solutions are innovative and effective
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources

Skills and Competency Requirement

  • Proficient use of Autodesk Revit and BIM knowledge in collaboration and remote work sharing.Revit use for developing
  • Link to your portfolio (This can be attached in your resume)
  • Must have 7 years experience and above in the field
  • ARCON Certification
  • Layout drawings for presentations, Exterior 3D Visualisations, and detailed construction drawing packages.
  • Good use of Sketchup is an added advantage
  • Excellent portfolio of previous works
  • Use of Vray or Enscape for renderings is an added advantage
  • Excellent Communication skills to excellently pitch design ideas to stakeholders
  • Comprehensive Use of G-suite for optimum collaboration

Educational Requirement

  • A Bachelor and Masters degree in Architecture is required

4. Project Manager

Job Summary

The project Manager is responsible for the planning and supervising of a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. He/she will organise and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner. An excellent Project Manager must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The goal will be to ensure all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget. They coordinate with all teams working on the project to ensure that goals are met on time and that each team’s deliverables are compatible with all others, and they oversee a staff of supervisors and managers to aid them in this goal. When necessary, they work overtime and may need to hire new staff.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Working with clients to detail specific project deliverables
  2. Creating a timeline of goals to be met
  3. Developing project plans for clients and staff
  4. Delegating project tasks to teams best suited to complete them
  5. Tracking project performance and analyzing deliverables against requirements
  6. Ensuring that all budgetary objectives are met, making adjustments as needed
  7. Overseeing junior staff and teams to ensure that work continues on budget and schedule

SKILLS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  1. A detail-oriented individual with a preferred background in architecture (if this is not possible, then a background in Civil engineering is the second choice)
  2. Ability to understand architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
  3. Proficient on all google suite and MS office functions.
  4. Experience in general exterior construction. Candidate that has experience with interior fit-outs is a plus.
  5. Understands Project Supervision and Coordination (Manage operations, understand the sequencing of tasks to ensure timely and quality delivery of project outcomes) and Stakeholder management.
  6. Understands Program Of Works and critical path.
  7. Great communication is key as the candidate would have to engage different stakeholders ranging from – Clients who would visit the site, artisans who will be working on-site, and the Spacefinish technical and management teams.
  8. Good writing ability. The candidate would be expected to write reports
  9. Project confidence when speaking, as is a skill needed to influence across various stakeholder levels.
  10. They should have worked in mid to large-size construction companies in the past, where they had to manage more than 2 projects at any given time, and multiple vendors under them.
  11. High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms and conditions.
  12. Strong leadership and management skills
  13. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  14. Possess a strong HSE and Quality focus
  15. Attention to detail

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Building Technology or Architecture from a recognized tertiary institution.
  2. Minimum of 4 years of experience in Project Management role within the construction industry.
