Market Data Sales Associate at Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group)

Job Summary

• We are looking for an individual with a good grasp of the Nigerian Financial and Capital Market ecosystem, to own development of products and services for NGX Market Data clients.
• S/he will play a critical role in enhancing NGX Market Data products and services, whilst working closely with relevant teams from ideation to execution.
• The role acts as a bridge between the exchange’s data products and the clients who use them, facilitating informed trading and investment decisions.

Responsibilities

• Client Engagement: Building and maintaining relationships with Market Data Vendors and their product licensees such as Hedge Funds, HNIs, Pension Funds, Broker-dealer and other financial firms to understand their data needs.
• Product Knowledge: Understanding and promoting various data products, such as market data feeds, trading analytics, APIs, data platforms and research tools. Demonstrate knowledge of a range of financial/capital market products and asset types including Equities, Fixed Income, ETFs, and Derivatives.
• Sales Strategy: Developing sales strategies to target potential clients, often tailoring offerings based on specific client requirements. Bringing traditional and creative ideas to improve current market data offerings.
• Market Insight: Providing insights and analysis about market trends and data offerings to help clients make informed decisions. Conducting market research to understand customers’ needs and emerging technologies in the Market Data field.
• Contract Negotiation: Negotiating pricing and contract terms for data subscriptions and services.
• Feedback Loop: Monitoring and analyzing the performance of NGX market data products. Gathering feedback from clients to communicate their needs to product development teams, helping to improve and innovate data offerings.
• Compliance Awareness: Understanding the concept of Market data licensing and compliance. Ensuring that all data sales comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Pricing Strategies: Work on pricing strategies to maximize the revenue generated from market data products.

Person Specification & Required Qualification(s)

• Candidates should possess an HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field;
• Professional qualification in FISD or equivalent industry certification is an added advantage;
• Minimum of 3 years’ post NYSC experience in Financial/Capital Market ecosystem in Nigeria, Product Management and Customer Service;
• Demonstrate knowledge of a range of Financial/Capital Market products and asset types including Equities, Fixed Income, ETFs, and Derivatives;
• Proven proficiency in Product Management.
