About Ecobank Nigeria

Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), a public limited liability company, was established as a bank holding company in 1985 under a private sector initiative spearheaded by the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). In the early 1980’s foreign and state-owned banks dominated the banking industry in West Africa. Commercial banks in West Africa owned and managed by the African private sector were a rarity. Its founders created ETI with the objective of filling this vacuum. The Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce promoted and initiated a project to create a private, regional banking institution in West Africa. In 1984, Ecopromotions S.A. was incorporated. Its founding shareholders raised seed capital for feasibility studies and the promotional activities leading to the creation of ETI.

JOB OBJECTIVES

Ecobank CMB aims to offer WOMEN an end to end partnership in which they can gain access to not only financial services, but also financial education, information on products and services, networks, and recognition. We intend to deepen our engagement with Women business owners.

  • This role is to identify, develop and retain key customer relationships in Commercial Banking
  • Women’s Desk (Women-owned-businesses) for optimal financial performance & generally own responsibility for the output of the business.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Business and Financial Performance

  • Execute the effective implementation of Women’s program
  • Utilise the customer segmentation to drive growth and sustainability of financials and revenues
  • Agree individual annual and monthly targets with all stakeholders/ direct reports
  • Prepare and deliver on approved budgets
  • Identify and initiate business development activities to achieve the set targets
  • Build and maintain productive relationships across units to support the delivery of the Unit’s goals
  • Specially focus on increased cross sell through efficient partnership with SME, Local
  • Corporate, Public Sector and other stakeholders
  • Ensure all due incomes are duly booked and correctly recorded
  • Conduct regular Business performance and profitability reviews
  • Ensure that Management report for the Group are timely and qualitatively prepared.

Client Centricity

  • Drive partnering with Women Business Associations in country to build scale in terms of customer acquisition and product utilisation/transaction volumes
  • Delivery of non-financial services i.e. financial education, networking etc.
  • Push onboarding onto digital platforms and utilisation
  • Drive excellent customer experience and ensure competitive solutions and products are consistently delivered
  • Establish and sustain a customer-centric business culture, leveraging on people and technology
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction as measured and monitored through Customer feedback surveys

Leadership and People Management

  • Working with Ecobank Academy, design and implement SME Women’s Training
  • Inspire, motivate and guide team members
  • Foster an environment of collaboration

Process, Control and Operational Performance

  • Ensure marketing strategies for the Women’s Desk are implemented.
  • Ensure there is a strong internal control system in place and monitor its adequacy and effectiveness
  • Ensure operational risk is well managed.

Strategic initiatives

  • Portfolio growth to at least x%
  • Effective implementation and positioning the program as flagship in the country
  • Champion the Women’s program

 

JOB PROFILE/ REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field of study
  • At least 6 years sales/marketing experience
  • Sound business and people development performance record
  • Strong knowledge of credit processes & risk management
  • Ability to structure transactions.

  • Strategic understanding of the SME business and good management skills.
  • Ability to establish direction and drive execution
  • Excellent at delivering and owning results
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
