Job Title: Legal Compliance Officer

Job Summary
- We are seeking a Legal Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to relevant legislation, regulations and also advise management on compliance measures within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Monitor provisions of relevant legislation and the regulatory enactments and advise Management on appropriate compliance measures.
- Ensure compliance with provisions of relevant Extant laws and regulations.
- Study and extract compliance information from new or amendments to laws and regulations, interpret and educate operators on the compliance needs.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory reports.
- Attend to correspondence that may be referred to him, collate information and write reports.
- Advise on the compliance implications of government decisions and policies.
- Any other assignment that may arise from time to time.
Requirements
- First degree in law (L.LB) from a recognized Nigerian or foreign University
- Law school certificate (BL)
- Masters degree (L.LM) in law from a recognized Nigerian or foreign University or any masters degree in a related discipline or a recognized professional certificate will be an added advantage.
- Should have a minimum of 3 years working experience in the compliance section of an Insurance industry or financial institution or Law firm.
- Relevant knowledge of Regulatory/Statutory provisions.
- Good understanding of the relevant regulatory environment.
- IT proficiency will also be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Must have an eye for details and be painstaking.
- Ensure Compliance with relevant extant law and all statutory requirements.
- Maintain statutory books.
