Job Title: Legal Compliance Officer

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

 

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a Legal Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to relevant legislation, regulations and also advise management on compliance measures within our organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor provisions of relevant legislation and the regulatory enactments and advise Management on appropriate compliance measures.
  • Ensure compliance with provisions of relevant Extant laws and regulations.
  • Study and extract compliance information from new or amendments to laws and regulations, interpret and educate operators on the compliance needs.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory and regulatory reports.
  • Attend to correspondence that may be referred to him, collate information and write reports.
  • Advise on the compliance implications of government decisions and policies.
  • Any other assignment that may arise from time to time.

 

Requirements

  • First degree in law (L.LB) from a recognized Nigerian or foreign University
  • Law school certificate (BL)
  • Masters degree (L.LM) in law from a recognized Nigerian or foreign University or any masters degree in a related discipline or a recognized professional certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Should have a minimum of 3 years working experience in the compliance section of an Insurance industry or financial institution or Law firm.
  • Relevant knowledge of Regulatory/Statutory provisions.
  • Good understanding of the relevant regulatory environment.
  • IT proficiency will also be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Must have an eye for details and be painstaking.
  • Ensure Compliance with relevant extant law and all statutory requirements.
  • Maintain statutory books.
