Job Description
Kuda is a money app for Africans on a mission to make financial services accessible, affordable and rewarding for every African on the planet.
We’re a tribe of passionate and diverse people who dreamed of building an inclusive money app that Africans would love so it’s only right that we ended up with the name ‘Kuda’ which means ‘love’ in Shona, a language spoken in the southern part of Africa.
We’re giving Africans around the world a better alternative to traditional finance by delivering money transfers, smart budgeting and instant access to credit through digital devices.
We’ve raised over $90 million from some of the world’s most respected institutional investors, and we’re rolling out our game-changing services globally from our offices in Nigeria, South Africa, and the UK.
Role Overview
This six-month internship will primarily focus on SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), aiming to develop foundational data engineering skills. Interns will engage in building and enhancing data pipelines that are aligned with our business objectives. This role is suited for individuals eager to begin their career in data engineering, offering a supportive environment to learn and grow.
Learning Opportunities
- Direct exposure to Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL DB.
- Hands-on experience with data integration and transformation in a cloud environment, using tools like Google Big Query and Looker.
- Collaborative work with experienced data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
- Introduction to Python and other data engineering tools.
- Potential conversion of the internship into a permanent Trainee Data Engineer position, based on performance.

- Experience in consulting and data collection that contributes to a strong foundation in data management practices
Requirements
- Strong interest in data engineering and a proactive approach to learning in a professional
setting. - Basic knowledge of SQL and familiarity with programming languages like Python.
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from a program in Computer Science, Engineering or any related field, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
- A passion for leveraging technology to innovate within the financial sector
