Role Summary:

As an Intensivist you will specialize in the care of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), providing advanced life support, monitoring, and medical management to patients with severe medical conditions or injuries.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities- Intensivist

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), including assessment, stabilization, and ongoing management.
  • Perform advanced procedures, such as endotracheal intubation, central line placement, and chest tube insertion, to support patient resuscitation and stabilization.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory results, imaging studies, and hemodynamic monitoring data, to guide patient management decisions.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including surgeons, nurses, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Manage complex medical conditions, including sepsis, respiratory failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and multi-organ failure.
  • Participate in code blue responses and emergency resuscitation efforts as needed.

 

 

 

 

Requirements- Intensivist

  • Medical degree from a recognized institution, with specialization in critical care medicine or anesthesiology.
  • Valid medical license to practice as a physician in Nigeria.
  • Board certification or eligibility in critical care medicine or anesthesiology.
  • Strong clinical skills and expertise in managing critically ill patients in an ICU setting.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
