JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a leading privately owned multinational company with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria and presence in some other African Countries. The Group is a diversified conglomerate, with interest in Banking, Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Real Estate.

The company desires to recruit a highly competent, result-oriented, commercially savvy, talented and self-motivated Professional for the role of Director, office of the Board with an excellent track record of achievement.

 

Duties and Background

  • Build and lead the daily operations of the Executive Office.
  • Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives, facilitate special projects, and ensure action items are executed on behalf of the Board.
  • Operate at a tactical, strategic, and operational level, handling the oversight of projects that do not neatly fit within the organizational chart or that fall between departments or leadership areas of responsibility.
  • Acts as an information funnel, filter, and facilitator with Senior Management Executives.
  • Assess all inquiries directed to the Office of the Board, determine priority and the proper course of action.
  • Act as the point of contact for the Board’s direct reports. Triage all incoming requests for the executive’s time and work collaboratively with the Board’s Executive Assistants to ensure his calendar is aligned with the priorities of the organization.

  • Proactively follow up with the Executive team if and when goals are not being achieved to determine why objectives are not being met. Provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Promote team integration as well as cross-functional communication and collaboration.
  • Manage key relationships with the Board and Senior Management Executives.
  • Track high priority initiatives for the Board to identify any/potential obstacles
  • Coordinate the flow of multi-platform communications to and from the Office of the Board. Aiding in and ultimately ensure the timely completion of creative projects.
  • Delegating duties to the administrative staff and monitoring daily operations.
  • Keeping executives organized with logistics, meetings, and emails throughout the day
  • Assist the executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies based on their schedules.
  • Determine key performance indicators and how to measure team performance.
  • Facilitate recruitment of staff.
  • Selection and monitoring of vendors.
  • Other duties inclusive as may be assigned by the Board.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to details.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with the Board and other Businesses within the Group.
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
  • Emotional maturity.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Forward looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Strong work tenure: Minimum of 17years of experience with at least 5 years as a Senior Manager, preferably in a corporate setting (Bank / FMCG/Telecom/Oil and Gas).
  • Experience and interest in internal and external communications and partnership development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and Social Media web platforms as well as Zoom.
  • Candidate must be very mature (a minimum of 50 years of age, strictly Female only)
  • First degree in any related discipline (Bachelor’s Degree / HND)
  • Masters / MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Experience leading a team.
