Job Summary
The Control and Compliance Manager is the overall person responsible for establishing and maintaining a strong control environment within the organization.
The Key responsibilities are
Minimum Internal Control Standard (MICS), Segregation of Duties, Delegation of Authority Guide
(DAG), and Policy.
Responsibilities of Assistant Manager
- Ensure the deployment of Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) via the
organisation’s SOPs and be a Single Point of Contact for Internal Control questions on
MICS, DAG and Policies in the organization. - Implementation of Internal Control in all locations of the organization by liaising with the different functions and process owners in the organization.
- Carry out of compliance review of all transactions in the organisation and ensure that all transactions comply by 100% to the organisation’s policies, standards, ethics and any other approved control manual.
- Tracking and monitoring of implementation/compliance progress within the organization.
- Defining action plans to close the gap and increase compliance, communicates with all functions and process owners.
- Ensure and be responsible for timely and accurate reporting of the self-assessments of
compliance to all policies and controls by the Process owners in the organization. - Carry out of the testing of controls to measure its compliance and reporting on them on a quarterly basis.
- Work with the process owners and the Executive management to remediate the failed
controls and close the issue before the next quarterly reporting date. - Monitoring of progress of Projects implementation in the organization and reporting
quarterly. - Carry out investigations and report on process and policy breaches, fraud and losses that
have resulted to a risk or potential risk on the going concern of the organisation. - Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements for
a safe working environment and accident prevention - Liaise with the Process owners to ensure existing policies and SOPs are reviewed timely
when there is an eventual risk and developing new ones to mitigate risks in the
organisation.
Requirements- Assistant Manager
- B.Sc. (Honours) Second Class Lower or HND Lower Credit
- Association of Chartered Accountant (ACA or ACCA)
- Microsoft Office Skills.
- Communication Skills.
- Negotiation Skills.
- Integrity and Assertiveness.
- Data Analytics Skills
- Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Skills.
- Financial Operations (Bank Reconciliation, CAPEX, Reconciliation and Analysis & Budgetary Control) Skills.
- Interpretation and application of IFRS in Financial Reporting Skills.
- Proficient in the use of an ERP.
- Seven (7) Years experience post professional qualification.
- Must have completed the mandatory NYSC in the country.
