Position Overview:
As the Finance Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the
organization, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring the effective utilization of resources. This
role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our mission-driven
organization.
Job Responsibilities: Finance Lead
- Financial Planning and Budgeting:
• Develop comprehensive financial plans and budgets aligned with organizational
goals and project objectives.
• Monitor expenditure against budgets, identify variances, and implement corrective
actions as necessary.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to project teams and management. - Financial Reporting:
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders, project
partners, and donors.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and standards set by
regulatory bodies and funding agencies.
• Analyze financial data and present insights to inform decision-making processes. - Financial Management:
• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable,
payroll, and cash flow management.
• Implement robust internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and
mitigate financial risks.
• Manage banking relationships and optimize financial services to support project
activities. - Grant Management:
• Manage financial aspects of grants and contracts, including proposal budgeting,
expenditure tracking, and reporting.
• Liaise with donors and funding agencies to ensure compliance with grant
requirements and facilitate financial audits. - Capacity Building and Training:
• Provide training and support to project staff on financial policies, procedures, and
systems.
• Foster a culture of financial accountability and transparency throughout the
organization - Financial Analysis and Forecasting: – Conduct financial analysis to assess project performance, identify trends, and forecast future financial needs. – Collaborate with program teams to develop financial models and projections for new initiatives and expansion plans.
Qualifications and Skills: Finance Lead
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is a plus.
- Proven experience in financial management, preferably in the NGO sector.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
