EnterpriseNGR’s YOE Paid Internship Programme 2024
About Us
We are an independent member-led group established for the purpose of promoting and influencing an enabling policy environment for the Nigerian Financial and Professional Services (FPS) sector.
The Nigerian FPS sector comprises the Banking and Finance, Insurance, Pensions, Asset Management, Capital Markets and Green Finance, Islamic Finance, FinTech, Law, Accounting and Consulting subsectors.
Our goal is to support the growth and development of Nigeria’s Financial and Professional Services sector and the economy.
Nigeria’s Financial and Professional Services (FPS) sector contributes significantly to the nation’s economic growth and hence is crucial to enabling the positive development of the economy. Yet, amongst the many subsectors within Nigeria’s FPS, only the banking subsector has made giant strides in the last few decades achieving about 60% penetration in Nigeria with strong African footprints and international presence in key financial markets.
This growth needs to be sustained and replicated across other subsectors if we are to advance the impact of the FPS, greatly strengthen the economy, and position Nigeria as a prime financial center for Africa. To do this, the sector needs an enabling and stable policy environment built, grown, and maintained by deliberate effort.
This is where EnterpriseNGR comes in.At EnterpriseNGR, we decided to not just point out the problem of unemployment, but to bring a solution to it. That is why we created the Youth of Enterprise (YOE) Internship Programme.
Youth of Enterprise (YOE) Internship Programme is one of EnterpriseNGR’s immediate developmental initiatives that aims to address the national youth unemployment and under-employment trends as well as build capacity in the private sector.
The National Population Commission places Nigeria’s population at about 220 million with 50% of the population comprising youth. Unfortunately, over 42% of Nigerian youth remain unemployed and a larger percentage are underemployed (Source: Nigerian Bureau of Statistics).
With the YOE Internship Programme we seek to improve the employability of Nigerian youth and position them for success in the workplace.

Everywhere you look, you see graduates who, after searching tirelessly for jobs, are forced to settle for menial jobs or worse still, have sunk into depression due to the financial, emotional, and physical stress unemployment brings
Educational systems may not have equiped them with the skills to meet the demands of the corporate world and access to information on job opportunities is not always easy to come by.
But all that is about to change with the Youth of Enterprise (YOE) Internship Programme. We are on a mission to equip Nigerian graduates with the requisite skills and experience they need to excel in the workplace and stand shoulder to shoulder with their global counterpart.
