Job Description (Energy Economist)

We are looking for an Energy Economist with a relevant degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and research skills, experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis, and knowledge of market and policy research. They should be proficient in financial and economic modelling, capable of conducting feasibility studies, and have excellent communication, documentation, and reporting abilities. What we’re looking for:

• Relevant degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Experience with cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of market and policy research.
• Ability to conduct feasibility studies and initiative for strategic planning.
• Proficiency in financial and economic modelling.
• Excellent communication, strong documentation and reporting abilities.

 

What you’ll do: (Energy Economist)

• Develop detailed cost estimates for all project phases, including feasibility studies, pilot programs, and full-scale infrastructure development related EV technology.
• Perform cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the economic feasibility of project phases.
• Analyze different funding models and partnership opportunities. Assist in preparing financial models to
support funding applications and partnership proposals.
• Prepare and manage the project budget, ensuring accurate forecasting and monitoring of costs.
• Analyze and estimate all resource costs – engage with vendors and oems to request quotations and conduct
a benchmark analysis.
• Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure alignment with the approved budget.
• Analyze global and local market trends, pricing, and demand forecasts for EV technologies.
• Develop energy demand models to forecast electricity requirements for related EV infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain financial models to assess the economic viability of all EV infrastructure.
• Support stakeholder engagement by providing economic insights and data, reports and high-quality
presentations.
