Job Title: Account Officer
Location: Yaba, Lagos

Job Summary
- We seek a highly organized and professional Accountant Officer to manage the financial records, prepare accurate financial reports, and ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations.
- This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting in budgeting and forecasting.
- The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and integrity in reporting.
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing budget forecasts and variance analysis.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure that all transactions comply with relevant policies and standards.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing, payments, and collections.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with all local and national financial regulations.
- Assist in both internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Keep up-to-date with financial policies, procedures, and legislation changes.
- Review expense reports and ensure that expenditures are within approved budgets.
- Assist in cost control by identifying and suggesting ways to improve efficiency.
- Prepare and file tax returns and manage payroll-related processes.
- Ensure timely payment of taxes and compliance with payroll regulations.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations and enhance process efficiency.
- Participate in financial system improvement projects as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ICAN or other relevant certification is a plus).
- Minimum of 3 -5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports.
Salary
N250,000 – N300,000 monthly.
