Job Title: Junior Trader
Location: Lagos

Job Responsibilities
- Trade Execution: Execute trades on a sub-account in line with Head of Trading & Investment’s instructions and in accordance with established strategies and guidelines, ensuring timely and accurate execution across various financial instruments and markets.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, news, and events to provide timely insights to the Head of the Trading Desk to help inform trading decisions.
- Monitoring: Actively monitor P&L, position and alerts for new trades to execute.
- Trade Support: Provide operational support by handling trade settlements, confirmations, and reconciliation activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Data Analysis: Analyze historical and real-time market data to identify patterns, correlations, and opportunities for improvement in trading strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Research, Compliance, and Operations, to ensure seamless trade execution and efficient processes.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized trading records, performance metrics, and reports.
- Operations: Help manage daily operational processes such as risk, PnL reporting, trading reconciliations and settlements.
- Learn: Understand our proprietary methodologies and trading systems that support an established trading business
- Others: Further responsibilities may be driven by the individual’s interests and specific skills.
Qualifications
- B.Sc in Economics, Finance or a related subject. Technical degrees and/or relevant certifications may be considered.
- 2+ years of experience trading FX, Commodities, Equities and other CFDs instruments.
- Familiarity with financial markets, instruments, trading platforms and macroeconomic trends.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, trading strategies, risk management principles, and market analysis techniques.
Requirements:
- Possess a strong work ethic and be able to learn quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex market data.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in executing trades and managing data within diverse asset classes, mainly: Equities, FX, and Commodities.
- Exemplary data management skills
- Competency using Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Diligence, attention to detail and accuracy are critical traits.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Demonstrated experience of working independently and as part of a team.
- High standard of integrity.
