Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management
- Proper management of Petty Cash for the organisation.
- Effective monitoring of travel and office imprest.
- Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as invoicing and other transactions.
- Accurate computation statutory levies and timely remittance.
- Ensure the accuracy of statutory deductions.
- Assist the Finance Manager with the preparation of financial reports.
- Effective filing, scanning and archiving of financial and office records.
- Effective coordination with External auditors during annual audit, and providing properly filed supporting documents for seamless audit process.
- Develop tools and mechanisms for effective and efficient monitoring of program and project budgets.
- Co-ordinate compilation of financial data and provides accurate and up-dated financial information to the Finance Manager on a continuous basis.
- Work with the Finance Manager to ensure an effective financial reporting system, internal control and audit follow-up.
- Work with the Finance Manager to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of finance processes and ensure compliance of the office business practices with the provisions of the organisational policies, procedures, and processes; drives changes for improvement, where and when necessary.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are processed accurately and promptly.
- Ensure timely compliance on annual statutory returns with government agencies like FIRS, LIRS, CAC, SCUML and non-governmental agencies.
- Preparation of accurate Funders’ financial report with little or no supervision.
- Monthly update to the Finance Manager, on investment opportunities for the organisation.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
2. Asset Control
- Maintain and coordinate the organisation’s Asset Register with the Administrative Assistant.
3. Administrative Support
- Maintain a vendor database.
- Lend support to the Administrative Assistant on vendor management.
- Manage quarterly inventory supply, control and documentation.
- Ensure the timely completion of all financial requirements.
4. Financial Education
- Ensure all staff understand the organisation’s financial policies and procedures.
- Work with the Finance Manager to provide staff training on relevant financial management techniques such as bookkeeping for Programs and Office Managers and other in-house best accounting practices.
Key Performance Indicators
- Quarterly update of inventory of assets in all Paradigm Initiative’s offices
- Monthly statutory payments within the stipulated time lines
- Monthly preparation of payslips latest 1 day after payment of salaries
- Daily processing of financial transactions through the immediate settlement of payment vouchers and reimbursement of petty cash
- Weekly reconciliation of petty cash disbursements and expenditure of all locations
- Monthly preparation of financial reports
- Timely preparation of Funders’ financial report
- Monthly education of staff on financial matters and policies

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A first degree in Accounting, finance or other related field.
- Part or full Accounting Qualification of ACCA or ACA.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Accounting packages
- At least 4 years experience in Accounting related duties
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and handle pressure cooker situations
- Strong Knowledge of the International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS), and an understanding of double entries
Please note that this role is hybrid and the successful candidate must be resident in Lagos, Nigeria.
Remuneration is between N650,000 and N770,000 gross salary per month depending on years of quality and relevant experience.
This comprises annual gross salary and reimbursements (housing, transportation allowance, pension, meal allowance, utility allowance, dependent relative allowance, communication allowance).
Other benefits included are 13th month salary, paid vacation, training and development, birthday allowance, medical cover for self, spouse and up to 3 children, bi-annual care package, paid sabbatical leave, paid maternity leave, paid paternity leave, amongst others.
